I'm Done....stick a fork in me!

I finished Harry Potter tonight. I should have been done DAYS ago...but life got in the way. I actually wanted to bring the book on our anniversary date, but Stephen didn't take kindly to the idea. Then i saw some girls reading their books at the restaurant and I thought about asking them if I could borrow their books while they ate, but figured Stephen wouldn't like that idea either! SOOOOO...many days later, i am just now finished! It was good and I was happy with the wrap up of the series! Now, everyone else hurry and finish so I can discuss! :)

Lunchin' Ladies

Today, Brooklyn came over for lunch. We made "Silly Face Sandwiches" and mud pies. We had a really fun time. Brooklyn loved the sandwiches, but the whole time we were making the food and eating Brooklyn kept saying, "Where are Kate and Claire?" and "Why can't they come over?" We sure missed the other girls.

It's pretty obvious that mine is the larger sandwich and Brooklyn's is the smaller.

I had a difficult time trying to take the pictures. Brooklyn was too eager to dig in and eat the gummy worms and the silly faces. Actually she was more interested in eating the "eyes" off my silly face.

American Idol - Brooklyn Style

Brooklyn is a great little singer. Here she is singing her favorite song! I love the way she says, "twinkle!"

Enjoy!

The Last Harry Potter

Well, as you know, I'm a Harry Potter fan. I couldn't imagine the last book coming out without me. Joel was kind enough to come with me, at 12:01 am - Saturday morning to stand in line and get my copy of the last and final Harry Potter book. We stood in line for about an hour. I stayed up until 3:30 reading. Ros and I agreed only to read the 1st three chapters, but I read six chapters before my eyes got the better of me. I took a picture with my cell camera to document the occasion. Joel suggested I take a picture while in line, but I felt a little silly doing that. He was then going to take a picture of me making the "big" purchase, but we forgot about that...I guess we were too excited! :) Notice the time on the clock...that is when I finished Chapter 3...I read three more chapters before finally going to bed.

Where's an ARK when you need one?

We've had TONS of rain. Normally we are on water rations, but this summer has been quite unique! We've had almost 60 days of rain this summer. At one time, we had 46 straight days of rain. Flooding roads, wet hair, and no sun have been our lives this summer. I was on my way home from work yesterday. I trip that normally takes about 20 minutes took me an hour. It was 3:00 pm and it looked like it was 9 pm. I snapped a picture with my cell camera, so I could share a piece of rain with you all. This summer was a perfect time for the movie "Evan Almighty" came out. We here in South Texas can really relate...we are looking into building our own Ark! :)

Huge Hit!

Well, as most of you know we had a big party at our house yesterday! the girls helped me make invitations and we inivted some of our favorite neighborhood kids (7 total kids counting Kate & Clair) over for a fun day of crafts! We called it...Summer Make and Take! We made snow globes, bracelets, painted ceramics, made dream charms, designed painters caps, and for lunch each kid made their own mini pizza. It was a huge hit! It only got crazy after lunch, and then once I got out the next project, things settled back down. It even wasn't as messy as I thought it might be...the only real messy part was the cheese from the cheese pizza. Sadly...I have no pictures to blog. My camara battery was out! Hey...I can't think of everything. My friend took some pictures but she doesn't have a digital...so I will have to wait until her film gets developed. Until then...

Random Pictures, but too good not to post!

Here are a few randome pictures that I found on my camera. Somewhere along the way I had forgotten to post them. They really made me laugh, so I thought I would share them.

At Britni's babyshower, she bought Brooklyn a "Mother/Baby set." It included a playmat for her baby, a carrier, and a baby back pack. She loved carring her new cheerleader doll in that carrier. It made us all laugh. I think they need to be careful, because I can totally see her trying to put Jack in that carrier and carry him around the house and out the door...if she can get away fast enough! :)

Brooklyn spent a couple of hours on the 4th of July at my house. Joel brought her over and she said, "Dad you don't have to stay." I guess she just wanted to make sure that he knew she was big enough to have a play date with me by herself. We had a fun day of exercising! She enjoyed the Yoga Ball, but LOVED doing situps on the Bean.

I found this picture from our trip to Fiesta Texas that I didn't post. I thought it was too precious not to. Brooklyn really wanted to go on the Water Raft Ride, but she just wasn't big enough. Maybe next year!

Brand New Baby Jack

I totally forgot that I had the brand new pictures from my phone camera that I can post. So I will post them along with the details...Jack Clayton Call weighed in at 8 pounds 7 ounces (and the Dr. said to expect a small baby). He was 20 1/2 inches long and his head was a womping 14 inches around. He has a FULL head of jet black hair (like Britni when she was born) and looks just like Britni's dad, Perry or Pops (if you talk to Brooklyn). He is beautiful and hardly fusses at all...I think the parents are hoping he stays that calm. Last night when the Dr. was putting on her gloves to check him Brooklyn said, "Where are my glubs to help you?" She is already, within the first 2 hours of his life, ready to jump in - gloves and all- to help with baby Jack. The pictures with him in a cap are taken about 10-15 minutes upon entering the world. The hatless picture was a request of Aunt Ros...she wanted to see his FULL head of hair!

More like 4 Weeks

If you remember my Post on June 13th, I told ya'll that on the Tuesday the 12th of June, Brooklyn said that Jack would be coming "in 2 weeks." Well she was only 2 weeks off. Jack Clayton Call came into the world a little before 4pm on Tuesday July 10th. We are all so excited, but no one is more excited than Brooklyn. She loves that kid already. Brooklyn and I were on our way to get ice cream when we got the call that Jack was here. I offered to stop and get her ice cream and then go to the Hospital, but she said, "We better just got to the hospital right now." She kept screaming the whole way and saying how excited she was. It was so cute to watch her walk into the room and see her new baby brother. At one point while holding him (she insisted on being 1st...after mom and dad) she was kissing him and the Kooch disease got too much for her and she just reached over and licked him. Those of us that also suffer with that disease just had to laugh. Those that don't have it laughed, but it was more of one of those "polite laughs." These are pictures of him from this morning. Brooklyn slept at my house and at 6:35 am woke up and wanted to go see her baby at the hospital. I convinced her it was still night time and she slept for about 1 1/2 more hours. She already loves that little guy and plans to help burp him...."very, very softly."

5 WHOLE INCHES...GONE with a snip, snip, snip!

I did it! I chopped off about 5 inches of my hair! I actually did it about 2 weeks ago and then I realized that I hadn't blogged about it yet, so here it is. I don't have a picture of myself with my new hairdoo, so you will just have to see the picture I took to my hairdresser. The day she did it, it actually looked just like this picture. However...since I am now responsible for doing it, it looks a little less like the picture! For about the last 6 years or so my hair has turned curly! This new cut actually makes it even more curly. I wear it curly alot! It's easier and cuter too! To get it as straight as the picture, I have to spend a lot of time with a straightener and use alot of product. Needless to say most mornings sleep is more important to me, so curly it is! :) I've blacked out the face in the picture, because I didn't want you to think of the real person...just imagine my face under all that hair...and the black blob! :)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

This was Bowen's first 4th of July! It was pretty quiet...But, I had to take a few pictures for his baby book...that I don't even own yet! :0

Moooooo-ve Over - Hair-net we come!

We met up with some of our best buddies from Atlanta to tour a dairy that is about half way between Greenville, SC and Acworth, GA! The kids were VERY happy to see each other again, but the dairy tour was a flop....the kids all had to wear hairnets...even the two ten month old boys! It didn't go over so well! Actually, Bowen did OK, but Kyle (my friend's little boy) would not keep his on and they almost made us leave the tour! Our tour guide was totally the "Dairy Nazi"! --- NO ICE CREAM FOR YOU! ---

Toxic Rocks & Roll

Here are three happy little cousins making some jeweled rocks for Papa's backyard. Too bad they really didn't turn out so well! Plus Emily and I breathed in some toxic dust! Speaking of toxic, did the skin on your hands ever grow back Em? Maybe next time we should use the gloves and protective face masks! :)

My sweet cheeks!

Look at these sweet cheeks!
Here are some photos I took of Bowen while we were at Mom and Dad's house. Look at those beautiful blue eyes! Mama-mia! I love the last one...he looks so miserable.

Hot Fun in the Summer Time
