Flying High with....

Today I flew to Ohio, with a stop off in Houston. The leg from San Antonio to Houston, I flew with Phil Graham. For those of you who don't know...he was (maybe still is) a Senator from Texas. I can't really remember if he is still in office. He flew First Class (I did not!) The picture I included is actually a VERY old picture. He's totally white-headed now.

Where in the world is Emily?

Here's a hint!

Hint #2:

Hint #3:
"Muhana, You Ugly!"
Not sure on the spelling of that name, so think...Johnny Lingo!

ALOHA from the Aloha State of Hawaii. This is a beautiful state. I'd like to say that I'm working my fingers to the bone, but I'm actually really enjoying myself too. The sales reps m.o. here in Hawaii is to work everyone from early morning to late, late at night. I haven't had that experience. She has been great. We did training today and then she took me to Pearl Harbor (I'll post those pictures later.) I've also gotten a couple of chances to be on the beach. Since it's very hard to take pictures of myself and who really wants a picture of themself, this is the best I have to offer...

It is beautiful here on Oahu...I would love to come back (next time with someone) and maybe to one of the other islands. I'm staying at a fabulous hotel on Waikiki...it's very touresty, but still - What a gorgeous state!

I just spent $20 on Refreshers!

Dearest Family,
It is with the utmost joy that I share the following website with you..."British Delights"

Yes, the title of this post is true...I just bought 10 rolls of my ALL time favorite candy, refreshers. I have learned through intense Internet research that these candies are becoming increasing hard to find, even in the UK. They have become a "vintage" candy. Maybe I need to buy my two year food storage supply now!

Also at this site you can get the ever yummy biscuit, HOB NOBS...in it's many forms...plain (my favorite) or chocolate, or a new one to me, cream center.

In addition to those yummy items they also have Walkers crisps...who could forget such classics as salt and vinegar, cheese and onion, smokey bacon...and then the less known (or maybe our mother was just sheltering us) Prawn Cocktail, tomato ketchup, and the scrumptious lamp and mint. (I can't make this up people!)

And...last and least, who would want it, but they do sell it, British deodorant!
Shop away and don't forget...God Bless the Queen!
Your "Brilliant" Sister!
Rosalind

What would NYC be without a....

CELEBRITY SIGHTING! Yes, for those of you who don't know I was eating Brunch in the Village on Labor Day. We were at a restuarant called Grey Dog. (It's very delicious!) I was with 2 of my old roommates. I had just ordered and was looking for a table. I turned around to tell ask my roommates where they wanted to go and who should be standing RIGHT in FRONT of me (actually behind me in the line)...Kate Hudson, her boyfriend Dax Shepperd, and her son Ryder (in a stroller). I literally bumped into her. It was cool. They ordered, got their food, and left. We tried to sneak a picture without being too obvious, but only got this...

She looked beautiful. More gorgeous in person, I have to say. Her son was cute, but in major need of a haircut. Dax...not so cute. I like her with Owen Wilson better. It was pretty exciting and so NYC.

Still posting from my travels

On my last trip, I ended my 6 weeks journey in NY. It was great. I got to see Chy and the Fillmores. She was very kind and invited Mary and her family over as well. It was nice seeing family. Two of the most exciting things that happened, while in NY was that I got to go to the US Open. We saw Serena Williams get her butt kicked. She was horrible. We also saw part of the game between Ferrer and Nagal. THese were both the semi-finals. It was way cool. I only stayed for part of the second match (men's). I left at 12:30am and it was only after the second set. Two of my friends stayed for the whole thing and didn't get home until 3:30am. That was way too late for me. It was such a neat thing to see.

Before either of the two matches started, we went to the practice courts. Lucky for us we saw the very hot Andy Roddrick. He is really good looking and I loved watching him play. Too bad he lost his match. (Ignore the bald head...focus on the hotty with the racket!) :)

The other exciting thing I got to do was go to a Broadway play. I don't feel like any trip to NYC is complete without a Broadway show. I was lucky to get a ticket to Legally Blonde. I literally went last minute and was pleased to get a pretty decent, reasonably priced ticket. It was a really cute show. I'd recommend it. Wicked is still my favorite. This is the curtain before the show.

Stay tuned for the highlight of my trip to NYC. It was a great treat, but I'm too tired to share until later.

Brooklyn and Papa Sing Along

I tried posting this before and couldn't get it to work. Hopefully this time it will all work out.

Brooklyn is a huge High School Musical fan...mostly in part to her cousins Kate and Clair. She watches both I and II all the time. I'm pretty sure Britni is totally sick of it. The other day at Mimi and Papa's house Brooklyn was watching HSM I Sing-Along. She was acting like she had a microphone and insisted that Papa be Troy and she be Gabrielle. It was so darling. This video just doesn't do it justice, but at least you get a glimpse!

Good -vs- Evil

I'll let you be the judge as to which is which! While I was in New York, I was introduced to a fabulous new treat. It's called PinkBerry and boy is it great. I shouldn't really admit this, but I ate it 4 out of the 6 days I was there. I couldn't get enough of it...yummy! Don't worry, I had my fair share of cupcakes too. I did try a new cupcake place...Billy's Bakery. Maybe it's because I haven't had cupcakes in awhile (except for the ones I made and the place in ABQ that Geraldine introduced me to), but Billy's is now my all time favorite. PinkBerry and Cupcakes...now that is living! :)

More on my travels...New Orleans

I happened to be in New Orleans for the anniversay of Katrina. That was interesting. I've been there twice before and things are slowly getting fixed. It is still very sad and very much in need of repair. One of the things that bothered me the most was the National Guard vehicles that were just sitting, deserted. Why? That city is in need of fixing and major overhaul. Here are a couple of Superdom Pictures too. Also you can see that some of the buildings are still needing some major construction. The city as a whole is still very much a "trailer town." There are lots of lovely government issued trailers around.

9/11

Last night we took cookies to our local fire dept. for 9/11. Brooklyn was so sad because the firefighters were not there. They were out on a call. She was so stressed out! She wants to go by later to make sure they got the cookies!

Traveling the globe...or at least obscure places on the globe

I mentioned in my last blog that I've been a lean mean traveling machine. That means that I have a few pictures from my travels. I have to admit that I didn't really have much to take pictures of while in New Mexico. I did take a few shots from my car window. I mostly just landed at the airport and drove across the state.

I did discover that Roswell takes the whole "alien thing" a bit too far. I guess if that was the only claim to fame my city had maybe I'd decorate Walmart and every bus stop with Aliens too.

I've been around the world and back!

The last six weeks I've been a lean mean traveling machine. I've been all over. I've been in New Orleans (twice), New Mexico (tons of times), Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York. I thought you'd be interested in seeing my calendar. You can't truly understand how much I've been traveling until you see it. In the last 6 weeks I've only been in to the office for less than 2 hours on 2 different days. It's been nice not to have to go into the office, but the travel has been a bit trying. Because I've been traveling so much, I'm a little behind on my blogging...thus I'm going to be a blog hog for a little bit.

GO TIGERS!

Here are a few pictures from the Clemson game today! It was SOOOOO hot I about got heat stroke, but we all surrvived. Our German friends came with us and they LOVED it. I think we have them offically brainwashed as Clemson fans now! And the icing on the cake...Clemson won!

Big Bouncing B Week

This week in pre-school we had B week. Here is a picture of Clair writing words that start with B. (She loves to wear my headband when she is working. Thus the headband!)

Here is Clair with the bee she made...she was SOOOO proud!

Trip to the mountains

Last weekend we drove up to our favorite place to enjoy nature...Jones Gap! Here are a few pictures of our beautiful kids in a beautiful place.
