More of Bowen
This is the after picture of Bowen's haircut...exucse the girl in the picture who also needs a haircut!
Here are a few more of Bowen with some of his gifts from his birthday and party!
The drum was a huge hit...no pun inteneded! I don't know who has enjoyed it more...
Bowen, the girls, or ME! Clair says I rock!
This is Bowen's tool belt and tools. Sorry about the blurry picture! Bowen got this Spiderman chair and it is just his size. He loves it! He sits in it all the time.
He is too cute.
First Cut
Bowen got his first hair cut on the day of his party. Stephen's mom cut it right before the guests arrived. He DID NOT like it one bit. He was moving all over the place. Stephen's dad was trying to hold him still, but Bowen wanted to watch what was going on all around him. At least his hair isn't hanging over his ears any more!

Cake Eating Machine!
So, Bowen ate about 3/4 of his little personal cake yesterday! At first he just kind of stuck his fingers in the frosting. Then he plunged his face in it! Then He started eating like his life depended on it! He wouldn't even look up at me to take his picture...too busy eating! I am SOOOOOO surprised he didn't get sick! Like his Papa said..."You only turn one once!" Go Big Bowen Blue!

At school...
Once we got to school Kate posed with the Bryson Elementary Bear in front of the school and then we waited in line to get in. Once inside we gave her teacher a potted flower and posed for a few more pictures. (Notice the crying kid in the back...she kept trying to escape and was out of control...already stressing out Kate's sweet teacher & some of the other kids too!) We gave Kate hugs and kisses and then she got to work!
Going to school...
Here is Kate at home getting ready to head off to her first day of Kindergarten! The cones are traditional German gifts for the first day...kind of like Easter basket...the kids get them when they first start school and they carry them all day but can't open them until they get home. I made Kate the large pink one...the other one is from our sweet German neighbors! Clair had to put on her new backpack too! They are SOOOOO proud of their cool High School Musical backpacks!
First Day of School
It is with total mixed emotions that I post these pictures! It seems like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms for the first time. Where has the time gone. She looked so grown up and pretty this morning. Her eyes were shinning and mostly confident with a trace of uncertainty of what this new adventure would hold for her. She was brave...only I, her mother, could see that small part of her that wasn't sure of things. My little girl...off to her first day of school!

Back To School Dinner & More!
Last night we had our special family dinner...Back to School Celebration. I made School pasta...shaped like letters (great pasta and holds it shape REALLY well!), spinach salad, garlic bread, and green beans. For dessert we had a brownie pencil! We ate in the dinning room with cloth napkins and everything. The kids loved it! Clair wanted to know why I gave her two forks! Kate wanted to toast with the fancy glasses! After we ate dinner Stephen gave the each of the girls a fathers blessing. Then we quickly ate our dessert and watched HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL TWO! It was a fun night....but a rough morning...Kate was up at 4:00 AM sick to her stomach and has been sick every hour since! Poor girl! Keep her in your prayers...she will be SO sad if she misses the first day of school! :( Anyway...here are pictures of the fun times!

Swim Party Cake
Some of my girlfriends in our neighborhood decided we would have an end of the summer swim party at our neighborhood pool. Everyone brought some snacky type foods for a lunch. I decided to bring a few things including a fish cake....it turned out SOOOO cute. I got the idea from Family Fun...the best magazine and website for ideas for kids! I didn't get any pictures of the party (watching three kids at the pool is hard enough without trying to take pictures too), but here is a picture of the cake! It was a HUGE hit!
Facing the Music...
and the on-coming traffic! :) We put Bowen forward facing a few weeks early. He was SO long his poor legs were all squished up in his old seat. I am sure it was a huge safety violation (as Clair says). I must say, out of all our kids, he acted the most cool! He really likes his arm rests, but other than that, there was no excitement! (Remember Clair...her eyes were as big as dinner plates and she was gripping the edge of her seat for dear life!) Anyway, I just wanted to share the pictures from this big coming of age event!

Twilight Series hits the news!
USA Today had this article about my favorite series!
Vampire tale takes bite out of 'Potter'
Move over, Harry Potter.
After three weeks, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book in J.K. Rowling's series, has been knocked off its perch atop USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list by another fantasy aimed at teens.
Eclipse, the third book in Stephenie Meyer's series about a girl whose boyfriend is a vampire, enters the list today at No. 1, edging out Hallows (No. 2).
Little, Brown reports Eclipse sold nearly 250,000 copies its first week. The publisher is printing another 100,000 copies after a 1-million-copy first printing. Hallows sold a record 11.5 million copies in the 10 days after its July 21 release, according to Scholastic, which declined to release sales figures for the past week.
Meyer's back story nearly rivals that of Rowling, who was a single mother on welfare in 1995 when she finished her first Potter book after conjuring the boy wizard on a train ride.
Four years ago, Meyer, 33, was a stay-at-home mom in Glendale, Ariz., with no plans to write a book. But after a vivid dream about a girl talking to a handsome young vampire, "I starting writing it down so I wouldn't forget it."
Those 10 pages became Chapter 13 in her first novel, Twilight, published in 2005.
When she began, Meyer says, "I wasn't a writer; I was a reader, but I was curious to see what happened next." She kept writing, telling only her sister, who urged her to try to sell it.
In one of those rare success stories that inspire unpublished writers, Meyer found an agent via the Web and got a contract.
Eclipse is Meyer's first book to make its debut at No. 1. Before its release, she had been no higher than No. 39. It's also boosting her earlier books. Twilight, in paperback, is No. 10; New Moon (2006) is No. 31.
Many of her readers are girls, but Meyer is thrilled when boys tell her, "My girlfriend made me read this, but I really like it."
The books mix fantasy with romance, without sex, drugs or foul language. Meyer's "pet peeve about the (young adult) genre is that there seems to be an empty spot for novels where kids aren't doing drugs and having sex."
Meyer, a Mormon who studied literature at Brigham Young University, says her novels "aren't overly religious, but my characters, even the vampires, think about religion."

A series worth reading
If you want to read a good series, boy have I got the one for you. Stephanie Meyer, a BYU grad has written a New York Times Best Seller, as well as two follow up books. The last book came out yesterday. I bought it, but I haven't started reading it yet. I have so much work to do and so little time to do it, so I can't start to read my book until this weekend. That way I will get a little work done first. I do feel like Eclipse (the new book) is buring a whole in the shopping bag I have it hidden in. I'm serious...these are wonderful books. I even have a few friends that are not really into reading, but they LOVE these books. Seriously...pict up Twilight today, you won't be sorry!

In the Middle of No Where
This month my travels take me from the West to the East. For the last week and a half and most of next week I will be in New Mexico. Today my training took place in Hatch, NM. My co-worker and I stayed in Socorro, NM last night. When I told mom that I was staying there she insisted that there is nothing there. I ensured her that when traveling there before we found a little, very nice resturant. I took a picture to share with her. Enjoy our little patch of heaven in the middle of nowhere!
Growing Up TOO fast
Jack is getting so big and he changes everytime I see him. I had been out of town for about a week and when I came back I was shocked to see how much he had changed. I had my camera on me, so I had to snap a couple of pictures. I have a video of him too, but I'll have to post it later. I don't have the patience to do it now. He is so cute and such a good baby. I love to see Brooklyn interact with him. She loves to hug, kiss, and pretty much love all over him. It's good to know that the Kootch Disease lives on in another generation. I love to see Brooklyn grit those teeth together right before she hugs Jack. It makes my heart sing! :)
